A VERSATILE SPACE THAT LENDS ITSELF TO ALL TIMES OF THE DAY; ENJOY THE PERFECT ISLAND MEAL WITH YOUR TOES IN THE SAND, OR UP IN OUR RESTAURANT WITH A GLASS OF CHAMPAGNE.
Toes in the sand
A handful of tables sit right down on the beach, close enough that you can hear the water rolling. Same menu and same service, sand underfoot with nothing at all between you and the bay.
These are the seats people remember most, and there are only a few, well worth asking for when you book.
Up in the restaurant
Open on every side and deep in the shade, with the breeze flowing straight through. The coolest space to be when the sun is high, and the easiest one for a long lunch or a larger table.
Warm natural materials, a considered wine list, and a space that lends itself as readily to a quiet lunch as it does to a celebration.
Peace Bar
The ideal lounge space to enjoy a refreshing cocktail or fresh coconut. The perfect retreat from the sun to have a light snack and listen to some soulful music.
Stay for the last hour if you can. The beach becomes still as the golden light ripples across the water, and the evening opens up in front of you.
Chill Grill
Some days you’d rather not sit down at all, and Chill Grill is built for exactly that. The best takeaway counter on Anse Lazio, and quite possibly on Praslin.
Fish and chips, king prawn baguettes, spicy wings, grilled green mussels and kebabs, all cooked to order and wrapped for wherever you’re headed. Down onto the sand, up onto the rocks, or back out to the boat.
Once the afternoon has wound down, the space settles into something quieter and altogether more refined. Low light, a five course menu, champagne on ice, and a beach lying still and dark in front of you.
It works as well for two people marking something as it does for a whole boat coming ashore or a wedding party taking the place over. Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll build the evening around it.
Evenings, and
occasions
Anse Lazio is one of those rare beaches that lives up to its esteemed reputation. Granite boulders worn smooth by the sea, jungle running down to the treeline, powder sand and water so clear it barely looks real. It has been here a great deal longer than any of us.
Lazio Blu is the newest chapter of the restaurant that stands on it, rebuilt from the ground up and named after the beach itself. The idea is simple enough: take the balance that already exists here, raw nature alongside real beauty, and put it on a plate and in a room.
That means letting the Seychelles lead. Flavours drawn from Creole cooking, fish landed in these waters, produce from growers we know by name, and a place that sits within its community rather than beside it.
It also means being true custodians of the space. We bake our own bread, buy as close to home as we can, and we’re steadily taking single use plastic out of the operation. The dunes move and the treeline holds the beach together, so we work around them rather than through them. There is an award for sustainable tourism on the wall and we’re proud of it, though the real reward is simpler. This is what you do when your dining room is a beach.
Of this place
Our team comes from across these islands and from a good deal further afield, and what they have in common is that they know how to read a table. They’ll lift the energy when that’s what you want and step back when it isn’t. Barefoot luxury only works when the service behind it is seamless and ours is exactly that.
